Mobile Interaction Express

It has never been easier and quicker to build and deploy mobile interactive applications with rich user interfaces. With Mobile Interaction Express you can test new ideas for dynamic mobile content or expand existing services (e.g. Web2.0) into the mobile arena in no time at all.

Mobile Interaction Express is a true service oriented architecture for dynamic mobile content. It consists of a service that hosts virtual applications, with clients that are installed on mobile phones. The application in turn hosts on-line services that are reflected to the mobile client and utilizes the clients powerful user interface features. Communication is asynchronous and real-time, making this an ideal solution for any dynamic mobile content, and forms an excellent bridge between e.g. AJAX application and mobile devices. Mobile Interaction Express is build around the same technology as Extransit Mobile Interaction Suite and incorporate all of its features. It also makes it easy to switch from the hosted service into a server installation (or the other way around) if desired.

1 Sign up for an account

With the Mobile Interaction Express account, you can log in to the management console, which is a simple-to-use web application that is your main control panel where you form, distribute and control your mobile applications and services. You can also see which users are on-line, using what kinds of devices, and also interact with them.

2 Define the applications

An application is a virtual space on Mobile Interaction Express that hosts mobile interactive services. Each application is represented by a mobile client software, which is downloaded or pushed to and the target phones. The settings of each application defines the name and description of the application (what the user will see when installing it and in the phones menu.) You can have different applications within one account, all with different names and different mixtures of services.

3 Add and edit services

A service consists of the user interface and its resources, the flow control, data definitions and external application integrations that forms the mobile user-tier. The services could be just anything, such as dynamic news feeds, card games or chats. Services are added and edited on-line by using our advanced authoring and previewing tool, Pitch Studio. Build from scratch or start with one of the templates. There are also lots of samples to use as guidelines or modify. Easily add e.g. visual themes and put transition animations to the user interface. The services can be previewed on-line whilst editing, by using a built-in emulator or a real phone.

4 Add your services to your applications

The services you have made can be added (published) to the applications you have defined in any combination. When the user starts the client part of one of any of your applications, a menu of all currently added services will show up, thus making the client act as an on-line dynamic portal that lists your services. Whenever you re-publish service, add a new service to an application, or remove it, all installed mobile applications will become up-to-date immediately or at their next log in. This saves you all the efforts of re-distributing the mobile applications form every little change.

5 Distribute the applications
Your applications are now ready to be installed on the target devices. Generate a link to the client part of any of your applications and distribute it to the target phones via e-mail or SMS, or include it in your mobile web or WAP pages. When the user chooses the link, a specific client will be generated, provided via OTA and installed on the users phone. Whenever the application is launched, it will present the vary latest state of your services to the user.
